Huánuco Pampa is one of the most significant archaeological complexes of the Inca Empire. Located in the town of La Unión, on the Bombón plateau at an altitude of 3,800 meters, it served as a major administrative and ceremonial center that connected the central Andes with Cusco.
The site covers more than two square kilometers and is remarkable for its vast main plaza, finely crafted stone architecture, and evidence of residential, administrative, and religious areas. Its design reflects the high level of organization and urban planning developed by the Incas to maintain control over their territories.
Huánuco Pampa stands today as a historical testimony of Inca power and culture, offering visitors a direct connection to the legacy of one of the greatest civilizations of the Andes.

TRAVEL PROGRAM
We depart from Huánuco at 4:00 a.m. toward the town of La Unión, where we enjoy breakfast before a short city tour visiting the historic Mariscal Cáceres Bridge, the main church, and a scenic viewpoint. From there, we continue to the monumental citadel of Huánuco Pampa (Wanuko Marka), once the capital of Chinchaysuyo.
Our guided exploration leads us through its vast ceremonial plaza, the impressive Ushnu platform, administrative and residential sectors, storage buildings, and finely crafted stone enclosures that reflect the power and organization of the Inca Empire.
After a traditional lunch at 1:00 p.m., we begin our return journey, arriving back in Huánuco around 4:00 p.m., carrying with us the legacy of one of the most remarkable centers of the Inca civilization.
