Laguna 69 is one of the most stunning natural wonders of the Huascarán National Park, located in the Áncash region of Peru. Sitting at an altitude of about 4,600 meters above sea level, at the foot of the majestic Chacraraju Mountain, its intense turquoise waters contrast beautifully with the surrounding snow-capped peaks and rocky cliffs, creating a truly breathtaking landscape.
The hike to the lagoon is an unforgettable adventure. The trail leads through green valleys, crystal-clear waterfalls, and impressive mountain scenery. Along the way, you can spot native Andean vegetation such as quenual trees, and, with a bit of luck, some highland wildlife.
Reaching the shores of Laguna 69 is a rewarding experience. The reflection of the glacier on the water and the peaceful silence of the surroundings make it a perfect place to connect with nature. Without a doubt, Laguna 69 is a symbol of the natural beauty of the Cordillera Blanca and one of the most remarkable trekking destinations in Peru.

TRAVEL PROGRAM
At 5:00 a.m., we leave Huaraz and begin an unforgettable full-day adventure. After picking up travelers from their hotels, we head north through the Callejón de Huaylas, entering the Huascarán National Park and the impressive Llanganuco Valley. Along the way, we stop for breakfast and enjoy the first morning views of the snow-covered peaks. The route passes the two famous lagoons, Chinancocha and Orconcocha, before reaching Cebollapampa (3,850 m), where our hike begins.
From this point, the trail winds upward for about three hours, crossing streams, waterfalls, and high-Andean meadows filled with native plants. As we climb, we’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the great mountains such as Huascarán, Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Yanapaccha, Chacraraju, and Pisco towering around us.
Reaching Laguna 69 (4,600 m) feels like stepping into a dream. Its deep turquoise waters reflect the surrounding glaciers, and the peaceful atmosphere invites you to rest, take photos, and enjoy your box lunch while admiring the scenery.
