This is one of the best routes and an intermediate length where visits the snow-capped mountains and colorful lakes of both the Cordillera Huahuash and the Cordillera Raura. During this trekking, we will appreciate impressive landscapes and views such as (Siula and San Antonio views) which pays off the effort.

TRAVEL PROGRAM
Day 1: Drive from Huaraz to Matacancha, Cananpunta Pass (4700 m ) trek Mitucocha Lake (4,270 m)
Trekking 6 hours
- We will leave the city of Huaraz early in the morning. On this first day, we will travel for 4 hours by land until we reach Matacancha, our starting point to begin our trek. From there we will have views of the Rondoy snow-capped mountain and the Ninashanca. We will get ready to begin the hike up to the Punta Cacanán pass, at 4,700 m above sea level. After a moment to enjoy the view and a moment of rest, we will descend to our first camp – Mitucocha.

Day 2: Trek to Carhuacocha Lake (4,138 m) via Carhuac Pass (4630 m)
Trekking 6 hours
- Today we trek for around 5 hours, making our way to Lake Carhuacocha (4,138 m). After breakfast, we will leave from Mitucocha to Carhuacocha, located at 4,138 m. On this day, we will cross the Carhuac pass at 4,630 meters above the sea, another alternative is to do the alpine route that lasts 5 hours, in this trek, we will be able to have privileged views. If we’re lucky we may see the Andean geese that are often spotted on the lake. In the Carhuacocha camp, we will enjoy the impressive views of the most important snow-capped mountains such as Jirishanca Grande (6,095 m), Jirishanca Chico (5,446 m), Yerupajá Grande (6,635 m) Yerupaja Chico (6,121 m), Siula Grande (6,344 m) and Siula Chico (5,680 m).

Day 3: Trek to Huayhuash Camp (4,350 m) via Siula Pass (4800 m)
Trekking 7 hours
- If you are a photographer, we advised you to wake up before dawn this morning to watch the sunrise over the Lake and Peaks from our campsite. Today, we will leave Carhuacocha towards the Huayhuash camp, located at an altitude of 4,350 m. We will arrive at the Huayhuash camp in approximately 7 hours; crossing 7 beautiful snowy peaks and the beautiful Siula, Cangrajanca, and Quesillo Cocha lakes. We will ascend to the Siula Pass (4,830 m), where we will be able to admire the beauty of the Yerupajá, Siula Grande, and Trapecio (5,644 m) snow-capped mountains. Then, we will descend to our camp at Huayhuash (4,350 m).

Day 4: Trek to Cuyoc Pampa via Trapecio Pass
Trekking 6 hours
- Today, we will cross our fourth step called Trapecio Pass. After breakfast, we will take a walk of around 2 hours until we ascend the Trapecio pass. From this point, we will have beautiful views of the Trapecio glacier and the majestic surrounding mountains such as Sarapo, Jurao and Carnicero. After reaching the highest point, we will descend to our Cuyoc Pampa camp. After the lunch, we will ascent for around 1 hour to appreciate the San Antonio viewpoint.

Day 5: Trek to Cutatambo (4250 m) via Santa Rosa Pass (5100 m)
Trekking 7 hours
- Today a spectacular challenge awaits us: a demanding climb to the imposing Santa Rosa Pass, at 5057 m. The reward will be unforgettable: a panorama that includes the majestic peaks of Yerupajá, Siula Grande, Sarapo, Rasac and Jurau, a visual feast for mountain lovers. From there, we will begin the descent towards the Calinca valley, where the Cutatambo camp is located at 4250 m. This place full of history, close to the last refuge of the legendary Joe Simpson before conquering the Siula Grande, will offer us a unique experience surrounded by the impressive views of Sarapo, Carnicero and Trapecio. An epic day in every sense!

Day 6: Trek to Huayllapa and drive to Lima
Trekking 3 hours
- On this day we will descend through the entire Huanacpatay ravine, and throughout the journey, we will see a different landscape full of wild flora and fauna. This day of walking is very relaxed and does not require any physical effort. After around 2 hours of walking, we will arrive at Huayllapa town. After lunch, we make our way by private vehicle to transfer to Lima city.
