Route of the Austro-Germans Settlers
During this trekking, we will make the pedestrian journey through the so-called Ruta de Colonos y Arrieros, a path with centuries-old roots that was a commercial route between the regions of Huánuco and Pasco and, also, the route used by the second group of Austro-Germans who arrived in Pozuzo ( Oxapampa, Pasco).

TRAVEL PROGRAM
Day 1: Huanuco (1800 m) – Chaglla (2930 m) – Muña (1700 m)
- Transfer from the bus station to the meeting point for breakfast.
- Picnic at the convenient time.
- After breakfast, we will leave for the town of Muña, on the way we will pass by the Shismay ranch, Parquencho lagoon, Molino town, Panao and Chaglla. After we will begin our ascent to the town of Muña, from where we will begin our trekking along the route of the Austro-Germans.
- In the afternoon, we will enjoy a hot coffee or coca tea while we observe the landscapes.
- Overnight in the camp.

Day 2: Muña (1700 m) – Tambo de Vaca (3600 m)
Trekking 9 km. 07 hours of walking approximately
- Breakfast in the camp.
- Picnic at the convenient time.
- After breakfast we will leave for the town of Tambo de Vaca, we will use the ancestral path used by the Jesuit evangelizers and the Austro-German settlers, the ascent is along a winding and well-marked path, as you ascend you look back the Huallaga River, and the mountain that houses the archaeological site of Huanacaure on the left bank of the Huallaga River; following the path we enter the forest, the same one that gives us freshness and shade.

Day 3: Tambo de Vaca (3600 m) Portachuelo pass (3780 m) – Saria (2620 m)
12 km. 5 hours of walking approximately

- 08:00 We leave towards the portachuelo pass along the ancestral trail, we ascend to 3780 meters of altitude, at this point we make a stop in order to observe the landscape that turns into various shades of green in perspective due to the ruggedness of the geography of the high jungle.
- 09:30 We start the walk now downhill, by a winding path following the ancestral path, going down approximately 200 meters we will observe the face of the Indian, capriciously drawn and carved by nature on a rock wall. Then we will descend into the jungle itself, having contact at first with the scrubby forests in transition to tropical mountain forests.
- We will cross small streams, we will walk through the vegetation and we will pass through tambos owned by the locals until we reach Saria.
- In the afternoon, we will enjoy a hot coffee or coca tea while we observe the landscapes.

Day 4: Saria (2620 m) - Cushi (1785 m)
10 km. 5 hours of walking approximately.
- Breakfast in the camp
- Picnic at the convenient time.
- After our breakfast, we descend a winding path until we reach the Playa Blanca river, observing the flora and fauna of the place with the background of the Cushi valley. From Playa Blanca to Cushi we will walk along a path with little unevenness, crossing small community ranches. We will have lunch at our Cushi camp.
- In the afternoon, we will enjoy a hot coffee or coca tea while we observe the landscapes.

Day 5: Cushi (1785 m) - Tingo Mal Paso (820 m) – Pozuzo (800 m)
12 Km.4 hours of walking approximately
- Breakfast in the camp
- Picnic at the convenient time.
- After a delicious breakfast with local ingredients, we will begin the journey along a well-marked path, but quite winding and at times vertiginous parallel to the Cushi River, which later takes the name of Chontabamba until reaching Tingo Mal paso; On the way we will observe the waterfall of Las Tres Marias, also known as "Pajcha"; from Tingo Mal paso we walked for a space of 40 minutes to Agua Salada. In this place we will enjoy a refreshing dip in these waters, then, we will cross a bridge erected over the Santa Cruz river; After a short rest we will board our vehicle to Pozuzo. In the afternoon we will visit the Shaferer museum.

DAY 6: Pozuzo – Oxapampa- Chanchamayo – Tarma - Lima
- Breakfast
- After breakfast we will have the morning free to visit the place on our own. At 12:00 pm we will have our last farewell lunch, where we will exchange experiences of our trekking. At the convenient time we will go to the city of Oxapampa to be able to board the bus to the city of Lima.
