After getting used to the weather in the city of Cusco, capital of the majestic Inca Empire, join us on the quintessential quick tour to Machu Picchu, the Salkantay 4-Day Short Trek. This incredible route will take you to the glorious Laguna Humantay, to the wild Salkantay Mountain, down through the mysterious cloud forest, and to the edge of the Peruvian jungle. Every night, you will enjoy sleeping in the comfort of our exclusive camp and you will delight yourself with some of the tastiest creative dishes in the middle of the Andean mountains. Our expert and professional guide will accompany you throughout the route in order to share everything they know about the region, culture, and history. In this adventurous route, you will be amazed by the drastic change of landscapes from the snowy peaks of the mountains, passing through the cloud forest until reaching the Peruvian jungle. Each step you take will bring you closer to Machu Picchu, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a new Wonder of the World.
In addition to the incredible landscapes and panoramas, you can visit some of the most desirable destinations in the world. Along the route, gaze in awe at Laguna Humantay, overcome the challenging trek to Abra Salkantay and appreciate the imposing Salkantay Mountain up close. Of course, the greatest reward will come on the fourth day, when all your efforts culminate in a visit to Machu Picchu. Upon entering the glorious Inca citadel, you will feel as if you have gone back hundreds of years and you will be able to imagine life back then. Your guide will fill your mind with history and conjure up images of Inca history. Also, you will have the opportunity to climb the Huayna Picchu mountain or the Machu Picchu mountain to enjoy a spectacular view of the entire fortress.

TRAVEL PROGRAM
Day 1: Drive from Cusco to Mollepata, Challacancha, Soraypampa, Humantay Lagoon, Sky Camp
Trekking 6 hours
- Wake up early to start your adventure. First, you will make a stop in Mollepata, where you will have a quick breakfast and continue to our starting point, Challacancha. From there, you will begin a relatively flat three-hour hike to Soraypampa, the site of the first camp; here, you will taste a delicious meal and have time to settle in your Sky igloo. Camp.
- In the afternoon, we will go up to the glorious Laguna Humantay on a round trip of approximately three hours. Once at the top, you will have enough time to take in the beautiful views of the jewel of the mountain and recover your breath. Afterward, we will return to Soraypampa to savor a delicious dinner and head to your igloo to rest. gazing at the stars.

Day 2: Trek from Soraypampa to Salkantaypampa, Salkantay Pass, Huayracmachay, Chaullay, Andean Huts
Trekking 5 hours
- Today is the hardest day of the whole trek, but you will get an incredible reward. In the morning, you will climb a challenging trail until you reach the Abra Salkantay. At the top, you will enjoy the most amazing views of the surrounding mountains and have plenty of time to take great photos. Afterward, we will descend through the fascinating cloud forest and stop along the way for lunch before continuing to our campsite at Chaullay. Today you will notice the drastic change in climate and landscape from the snowy peaks of the mountains to the edge of the jungle. Once in Chaullay, we will have another great dinner and go to sleep in the Andean Huts.

Day 3: Trek from Chaullay to Collpapampa, La Playa, Hydroelectric, Aguas Calientes
Trekking 5 hours
- In the morning, we will begin our walk to La Playa and contemplate the magnificent landscape of the jungle that surrounds us. Along the way, you will be able to observe the unique flora and fauna of the area. One time at La Playa, we will enjoy our last delicious lunch prepared by our chefs and watch a coffee demonstration before heading into our private transportation to the Hydroelectric train station. Afterward, you can take a three-hour walk along the tracks through lush vegetation above the Urubamba River or board a train to Aguas Calientes (not included in the program). Once in Aguas Calientes, we will go to our hotel before exploring the small town and having a delicious dinner in a good restaurant. You'll have to go to bed early so we can get up before dawn.

Day 4: From Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, Ollantaytambo, Cusco
- Trekking 4 hours
Today is the day you have been waiting for the whole trip. You will finally visit one of the new seven wonders of the modern world, Machu Picchu (6:00 am). After starting the day very early, you will head to the citadel to avoid the crowds. Once you're inside and enjoy the initial view, you'll have a two-hour guided tour and learn everything you need to know about the site. You will then have time to climb an additional mountain or explore the grounds further. Then, we will return to Aguas Calientes, where you will have lunch and then board the train to Ollantaytambo. From there, our transport will take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
