TRAVEL PROGRAM

Day 1: Transfer from Huaraz (3,100 m) to Cebollapampa (3,900 m / 12,795 ft), Pisco Base Camp (4,750 m / 15,583 ft )

• Departure from Huaraz by private transport for approximately 4 hours towards the Llanganuco ravine and then to Cebollapampa. From there, we will begin the trek to the base camp of Pisco which takes around 3:30 hours
• In the later afternoon, we will enjoy a hot coffee or coca tea while observing the landscapes.
• Overnight at the campsite

Day 2: Climbing from Pisco Base Camp (4,750 m / 15,583 ft) to Summit (5,750 m / 18,864 ft ), Pisco Base Camp (4,750 m / 15,583 ft)

• We leave at midnight for the Pisco summit. The ground is uneven and rocky, and the hike commences with a steep but short hike up to the top of the moraine wall and then a short but tricky descent down the other side. The rest of the way is a mixture of the good paths with some demanding climbing over moraine rocks and loose ground until we reach the glacier where we put on crampons and rope up (3 hours climbing). Most of the way is not very steep or technically difficult although the altitude does make it a challenge. Depending on the season, there can be some short steep sections or hard ice or possibly a crevasse to navigate around. We try to arrive at the summit to see the sunrise. About 5 hours to the broad summit where there is plenty of room to walk around, appreciate the amazing surrounding mountains, and take photos.
• From the summit, we enjoy panoramic views of the highest mountains in Peru’s Cordillera Blanca Range, Huascarán (6768m) highest tropical mountain in the world, Chopicalqui (6354m), Huandoy (6160m), Pyramid (5885m), Artesonraju (6025m).
• In the later afternoon, we will enjoy a hot coffee or coca tea while observing the landscapes.

Day 3: Pisco Base Camp (4750 m) – Huaraz (3100 m)

• On this new day, we walk down to Cebollapampa for 1½ hours or make a traverse along a good but rocky path before we climb up to a viewpoint at 5100m. From there we descend to 69 lakes and then we take Demanda Valley down to Cebollapampa where our private transport is waiting for us to transfer us back to Huaraz.

• We recommend you to do at least a 1-Day hike in altitude to be acclimatized before doing this tour.
