Expedition | Cordillera Blanca
Climbing Vallunaraju Mountain
Vallunaraju is one of the most predominant mountains that can be seen directly from Huaraz as well as from the Cordillera Negra. It can be easily identified and distinguished from other mountains for its double-headed summit from which the northern summit is the highest one.
Vallunaraju Mountain is one of the few peaks in the Cordillera Blanca that can be climbed in two days. This mountain is perfect for both first-time climbers and also experienced climbers. A good peak to include at the end of your trek or for acclimatization for climbing bigger peaks. Although graded as an easy climb, the high altitude and long and in places steep snow slopes do make Vallunaraju Mountain a physically demanding climb.
